At the age of 12 Andrew first started drumming at church where he was the 3rd string drummer.  If the other two guys couldn't make it he was on the spot.  Around that same time he began to formally study piano.  Andrew would develop his drumming style by listening and copying other drummers he heard.

The first bass player he worked with was his father.  Later Daniels studied percussion with Joe Ferrara.  When asked what he would credit his playing to he responds simply, "all the musicians I've been honored to play with.  For without their support and guidance I wouldn't be who I am."
